Updated: Apr 25

Who doesn't want a little extra chocolate in their banana bread?!

Recipe Adapted from Tasty As Fit

Serves 10

The Ingredients

  • 3 bananas (overly ripe- about 1 3/4 cup mashed)

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/3 cup coconut sugar

  • 2.5 cup almond flour

  • 1/2 cup arrowroot starch / corn starch

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 2.5 tbsp cacao powder

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (dairy free)

The Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF and grease one loaf pan.

  • In a large bowl mash bananas, well. Add vanilla and coconut sugar and mix. Add almond flour, tapioca flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Stir until you achieve a smooth batter.

  • In a small bowl and add the cacao powder and chocolate chips.

  • In the batter, add the apple cider vinegar and stir in. Scoop half of the batter into the bowl with cacao and chocolate chips and stir until well combined.

  • Alternate scooping the original batter and the chocolate batter into the loaf pan. This will create that marbling pattern in the bread.

  • Once all the batter is in the loaf pan smooth the top. Bake for 45-48 minutes! This loaf does not rise as much as a bread that uses eggs but will have the yummiest banana bread consistency! YUM!
